musik. Karier Glenn Fredly dimulai pada 1995. Kala itu, Glenn Fredly yang
tergabung dalam Funk Section melahirkan hit besar “Terpesona.” Tiga tahun
kemudian, Glenn Fredly bergabung dengan Sony Music lalu melahirkan album solo
perdana.

Tak Merasa Bersaing

Glenn Fredly menyadari fakta ia bukan satu-satunya solois pria di Indonesia.
Ada Marcell dan Rio Febrian di awal tahun 2000. Kini ada Afgan, Vidi Aldiano,
dan Rizky Febian.
“Saya tidak merasa bersaing
dengan solois lain. Dalam industri, sangat wajar jika para penyanyi menampilkan
yang terbaik dan berupaya melahirkan hit. Kalau ditanya soal bersaing dengan
Afgan, saya tidak berpikir demikian. Saya malah berpikir bikin kolaborasi untuk
menghidupkan industri musik,” ujar Glenn Fredly.
Regenerasi
Ditemui
seusai manggung di Prambanan Jazz Festival 2019 hari terakhir, Minggu
(7/7/2019) kemarin, Glenn menyebut regenerasi tak terhindarkan. Bahkan,
regenerasi sangat dibutuhkan berbagai industri termasuk musik.
“Ingat, dalam bermusik
regenerasi itu penting. (Dunia musik) tidak bisa dimonopoli oleh penyanyi itu
lagi dan itu lagi. Enggak bisa sebuah festival isinya lo lagi dan lo lagi. Nature-nya musik memang begitu,” tutup
